Kurt Anderson Awarded Building Engineer of the Year
Kurt Anderson, Chief Engineer at 401 North Michigan Avenue, has been awarded Building Engineer of the Year at BOMA Chicago’s 2021 TOBY Gold Circle Awards Gala! Over the past 5 years, Kurt and the 401 North Michigan Avenue team have mitigated over $555K in energy costs and reduced energy usage by 5-15% each year. In 2020, Kurt managed the in-house installation of smart building technology to save energy and provide space comfort for tenants, while also implementing the SmartSuites program at 401 North Michigan to allow tenants’ personal control of their lighting and temperature in the office. Additionally, Kurt has instructed classes at the Illinois Institute of Technology and hosted IUOE Local 399 Union Boiler Operations classes to highlight best practices in efficiency and sustainability.
